Selkirk and District Chamber of Commerce - About our Communities

The strengths of the region as a tourism destination lie in its history and heritage, natural beauty, recreation and leisure opportunities, proximity to the beaches of Lake Winnipeg, friendly people, first-class attractions and special events. St. Andrews Church and Rectory is the oldest stone church in Western Canada. Return to the 1850s fur trade era by visiting Lower Fort Garry, the oldest stone trading post in North America.

Discover a true fisherman's paradise along the Red River at Lockport, which has earned the name of Catfish Capital of North America and heading north will lead to you some of the most attractive Lake Winnipeg beaches and cottage country in Manitoba.

Selkirk is also home to the  Marine Museum, a beautiful waterfront area, Chuck the Channel Catfish and the Triple S Fair and Rodeo.
